Baby Jake Has Arrived!

On July 28th, we welcomed Jake Taylor Swenson into our family. Our gift from God weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz. and was 20 1/2 inches. He has beautiful dark blue eyes that we are pretty sure will stay blue, just as his brother's eyes are. Big brother John Eric absolutely LOVES his baby brother. Sometimes Mommy wishes he wouldn't love on him so much! He's kind of rough and wakes up his baby brother at times. We are so blessed to have Jake. He is such a sweet and good baby. He's been waking only one time during the middle of the night for a feeding, so Mama is actually getting some sleep!

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July at the Village in Buffalo Gap. We rode/walked in the parade, then went to the local vintage baseball team's game, and even heard the reading of the Declaration of Independence. Truly an Americana kind of day!

Big Boy Bed

On Memorial Day, John Eric got his new big boy bed! He LOVES it! We thought we'd have trouble with him wanting to get out, but we haven't. He thinks that he is big stuff!

Playing with Olivia and Ella

John Eric had a blast when his cousins, Olivia and Ella, came to see him. They played until they dropped! Enjoy the pictures of pooltime fun and our morning at the zoo!

33 Weeks and Counting!

Hey Y'all!

Here is the most recent photo of Preggo! My husband took it of me yesterday. I am now at 33 weeks--only 6 more to go! I am looking so forward to the arrival of Jake!

Spring Break with Beeba and Pops

During Spring Break this year, we visited Beeba and Pops in San Marcos, Texas. We picnicked at 5 Mile Dam, and took these great photos. Thanks Beeba and Pops for a great time!

Western Heritage Classic

John Eric had a great time at the Western Heritage Classic here in Abilene. He got to watch the Horse Whisperer working with a little philly, and also got to take in a cutting horse competition. He loved getting up close and personal with all the "hossies". His very favorite thing, however, was seeing all the tractors. I think we might have a future farmer on our hands!

Beginning Blogger!

Well, here I am trying my hand at the world of blogging! I have Melanie and Abbye to thank for inspiring me! I thought their blogs were so interesting and fun! I am now 30 weeks pregnant with baby Jake, and look forward to his arrival on July 28th. This has been another wonderful pregnancy. My only complaint is leg pain at night, which interrupts my sleep a lot. John Eric says I'm not waking him up, though, with all of my tossing and turning. Whew!
